A KINGSLEY man outright denies a dog caught on CCTV worrying sheep near his home is his.
At a hearing at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 23, Ian Smith said the dog caught on CCTV scattering sheep at Orchard End Farm Livery Stables in Depmore Lane on Wednesday, October 8, last year, ‘could not possibly be his’.
The 61-year-old, of Top Road, said his dog, described in court as a small husky, had not left his house on the day in question.
Smith added the dog only leaves the house with him, and on October 8, he is certain this did not happen.
To a single charge of being the owner of a dog worrying livestock, he pleaded not guilty.
A trial date was set for Monday, July 13.
Orchard End Farm is a 44-acre livery stable home to around 23 horses and 38 sheep.
