A NEW family adventure is set to cast its spell in the heart of the forest.
Forestry England has announced that Delamere Forest will host the Room On The Broom Trail from January 2026.
Inspired by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved children’s book, the interactive trail will mark the 25th anniversary of the classic story.
Ben Dent, Forest Centre manager, said: "We’re thrilled to bring the magic of Room On The Broom to Delamere Forest.
"This trail is a wonderful way for families to connect with nature, enjoy a beloved story, and create unforgettable memories together.
"With fun activities and enchanting surprises along the way, it’s the perfect adventure for young explorers."
The trail will allow visitors to follow Witch and her friends through Delamere Forest as they search for her lost hat, bow, and wand.
Children will also be invited to help collect ingredients to complete a special spell.
Each stop will include activities, nature facts, and interactive elements designed to engage young minds.
To make the experience even more immersive, families can purchase a Room on the Broom trail pack for £4.
The pack includes a themed lanyard, magic spell cards, stickers, a pencil, and a pop-out craft to make a 'witchy wand'.
The trail is part of a long-standing partnership between Forestry England and Magic Light Pictures, which has brought several of Donaldson and Scheffler’s stories to life in natural settings since 2014.
More information about the trail and other activities at Delamere Forest can be found at www.forestryengland.uk/room-on-the-broom.
The Room On The Broom Trail is expected to run throughout 2026, offering families a full year of magical adventures in the woods.
