A FORMER RAF base, a bridge, a church, two historic hill fortifications and three town centres are among almost a dozen sites on the Heritage at Risk Register 2025.

The Mid Cheshire heritage sites are among thousands of heritage sites across the country which are on the register released at the end of every year by Historic England.

All of the above have a score on scale of A to F, with A being a higher priority asset which is the most at risk, and F being a lower priority asset which is the least at risk.

Over 100 nationwide heritage sites are new to this year's list although a similar number of heritage sites were rescued in the last year and are no longer on this year's list.

When the register was released last month Claudia Kenyatta CBE and Emma Squire CBE, the co-chief executives of Historic England, said: "The Heritage at Risk Register is an opportunity to celebrate the many benefits of bringing our historic buildings back into use."
