A DESTINATION games pub and eatery in Northwich’s Barons Quay offering exciting games, craft ales, and unforgettable wood-fired pizzas is closing for good.
On Tuesday, November 11, Dockyard BQ, in Weaver Point, announced ‘with a heavy heart’ its last trading day would be Sunday, November 16.
The self-described ‘rustic alehouse’ opened in November 2023 offering customers an extensive range of world beers as well as some from local breweries including Hush Brewing Company and Mobberley Brewery.
As well as serving quality burgers and pizzas from celebrated pop-up vendors, the pub offered customers a choice of four pool tables, darts, classic arcade machines, UV ping pong, and Shufl boards.
It also has a roof terrace with views over the River Weaver.
Dockyard is a chain of bars which has operated sites at Media City in Salford, and Spinningfields and Didsbury in Manchester.
Dockyard BQ was asked to explain the reasons behind its sudden closure but declined due to 'contract stipulations'.
However, the business did post a thank you message to customers and staff on its Facebook page at around lunchtime on Tuesday, November 11.
A spokesman for the Dockyard team said: “It’s with heavy hearts we share the news The Dockyard will be closing its doors for the final time this Sunday, November 16.
“We want to thank every single person who has supported us along the way and our amazing team for giving it their all every day.
“We hope you can pop in and see us before we close on Sunday and have a farewell drink with us.”
