A POPULAR pub in Lostock Gralam is seeking permission for an outdoor bar and to have entertainment outside.
The Slow and Easy, on Manchester Road, has applied to vary its licence by ‘extending its licensable area’ to allow the use of an external bar.
While the pub already has popular beer garden, up not now alcoholic drinks have only been purchasable indoors.
A second aspect of the application covers removing a condition of the Punch Taverns-owned pub’s entertainment licence, which currently restricts it to holding performances indoors.
Punch Taverns has not applied to change its licenced operating hours for either alcohol sales or entertainment.
The application was received by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC), the licencing authority for the borough, on Tuesday, October 14.
Objections should be made in writing the Licencing Team, Cheshire West and Chester Council, The Portal, Wellington Road, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BA, by Tuesday, November 11.
Full details of the application can be viewed at the council’s licencing portal: bit.ly/CWACApplicationsUnderConsultation.
The Slow and Easy, which dates back to the 1700s, underwent a root-and-branch restoration and refurbishment in recent years, reopening in June 2022.
