Northwich coin dealers sells 'rare' 50p collection for £15k

AN ‘exclusive’ 50p piece coin collection is being sold by a Northwich seller for more than £15,000.

The items, listed on global auction website eBay, are described collective as a 'quintessentially British treasure' which would appeal to 'avid collectors and novices' alike.

The collection consists of eight coins, all with different commemorative designs on the back, including one celebrating the 50th anniversary of the NHS, and another marking 100 years since the awarding of the the first Victoria Cross.

Though the dates on the coins vary, the obverse sides on all show a range of coinage portraits of Elizabeth II.

The eBay listing describes the 50p collection as 'rare’, with a total asking price of £15,086.68, or best offer.

Collection is available directly from the seller in Northwich at no extra cost, though for postage, there is a charge of £8.75.
