Race Across the World: The Experience is coming to Manchester this summer.

Announcing the news on Instagram, the official organisers of the experience said: “Race Across the World: The Experience is coming to Manchester. New puzzles, new routes, new discoveries to be made. Coming soon summer 2025."

The experience gives fans of the BBC series Race Across the World (RATW) a chance to race across the city much like the participants do on the programme, but on a smaller scale.

Each series of the programme sees pairs race a stretch of the globe with no luxuries such as mobile phones, flights or credit cards – they only have the cash that a flight would cost.

How to book tickets to Race Across the World: The Experience in Manchester

You'll have 'no maps' and 'no public transport' to help guide you, and you'll be against the clock.

Tickets aren’t available to book yet, but you can prepare for the release.

If you think you've got what it takes, you can sign up for the waiting list for tickets here.

The news of the Manchester experience comes after the success of the London experience, where players can book tickets to race across the capital.

The official Instagram account for the experiences has posted reviews from some of those who have given the experience a go in London.

One group said: "It was like an escape room but outdoors with the whole of London. Would definitely recommend!"

Another commented: "We saw things and went to places we hadn't been to before - even though we are Londoners!"

The London experience can be booked now via the experience's website.

Who took part in this year’s series?

This year, the BBC show saw five pairs race from China to India with several checkpoints in between.

The racing pairs were:

  • Gaz and Yin (former husband and wife) - eliminated
  • Elizabeth and Letitia (sisters)
  • Fin and Sioned (partners)
  • Brian and Melvyn (brothers)
  • Caroline and Tom (mother and son)

Who won Race Across the World 2025?

Gaz and Yin were eliminated in the earlier stages of the competition, so four teams in the 14,100km (8,761-mile) race successfully crossed Asia, the world’s largest continent, to make it to the finish line.

Mother and son, Caroline and Tom, won series five of the BBC One show.

Housewife Caroline, 60, and 21-year-old Tom became the first mother-and-son team to win after reaching the final checkpoint in Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of mainland India, to claim their £20,000 prize.
