A care home talk brought back fond memories of a well-loved family bakery in the community.

Residents at Daneside Court in Northwich enjoyed a visit from Edward Broadhurst, who shared the story of his family’s bakery, which dates back to the 1800s and was once a major employer in the area.

The Broadhurst bakery, located on Gadbrook Road in Rudheath, operated on the site of a former munitions factory and became well-known for its Dundee Biscuits.

Samantha Farahat, care home manager at Daneside Court, said: "It was a truly heartwarming and nostalgic afternoon.
