RAMBLERS and dog walkers are being warned of two upcoming public footpath closures in Acton Bridge and Crowton.
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC), which manages public rights of way in the borough, has ordered the closure of Crowton FP11 and Acton Bridge FP12, which together connect Cliff Lane and Ainsworth Lane.
The paths, which connect with each other at the footbridge on the Crowton and Acton Bridge parish boundary, cross an area of marshy ground, marked on the Ordinance Survey map, on either side of Clifton Brook.
CWAC say the closure is necessary as the paths are no longer safe due to waterlogging either on or adjacent to the paths.
The closure order comes into force on Thursday, June 26, and will last six months, though an alternative route is available via Crowton FP10, Cliff Lane, Acton BR13, and Cliff Lane.

A spokesman for CWAC said: “There is an alternative route.
"This order does not prevent any pedestrians with access to premises situated on or adjacent to the public footpaths only accessible from the path, or by any emergency vehicle.”
