WINSFORD has big plans to ‘renew and re-engage its market community’ as it gets ready to launch its long-awaited outdoor events space.
To get the ball rolling, the town will be holding its first ever artisan market, complete with live entertainment, as part of the new civic square launch on Saturday, May 31.
This pop-up event will bring together independent food stalls, farm produce, freshly baked treats, unique artisan products, and live music and entertainment, in what organiser, D&D Artisan Markets, says will be a ‘buzzing’ community day out.
The mother-and-daughter team behind D&D Artisan Markets, Caitlin and Diane Reynolds, put on similar pop-up events all over Cheshire, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester.
Their aim is provide small-scale independent makers of quality goods with a chance to get their wares in front of a buying public, while creating a fun day out for all the family into the bargain.
The artisan market will be running alongside Winsford's already established indoor market, with hopes of stimulating shoppers' interest in what the town's independent traders have to offer.

“Our aim is to help renew and re-engage the market community in Winsford by offering a pop-up event which will encourage footfall for the town centre’s established indoor market, shops and cafés.
“We're just as excited to be working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, as we are alongside Winsford's fantastic traditional indoor market.

These events will not only provide fun and entertainment for local people, but also increase footfall in the town centre, which is great news for traders.
Caitlin added: “Our goal at D&D is to support small businesses and provide opportunities and spaces for entrepreneurs to thrive.”
