A 'PRESTIGE' car auction house based in Winnington is about to go live with its first online-only sale.

Family-owned auctioneers, Hampson Auctions, based at Winnington Hall, usually holds its luxury car sales at some stately home or fancy landed estate.

But in November, the firm announced its intention to launch an online division of the business, called Hampson Marketplace, potentially opening up the market to more national and international buyers.

The first sale runs from Friday, January 24, to Friday January 31, and will offer supercars, performance and classic cars, motorcycles, and private registrations.

Hampson says entries in its new-type sale include a stunning 2022 Porsche 992 Carrera 4 GTS, a potent 2011 Mitsubishi Evo X, and an impressive 1975 Ford Escort RS2000.

Rarities on offer include a supercharged 1987 Toyota MR2, a model not offered for sale in the UK and Europe, and a 2013 Renault Megane Red Bull coupe, number 14 of just 30 produced.

Hampson managing director, Zach Hamilton, said: “This innovative online auction platform is designed to complement our renowned physical sales held at Oulton Park and Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire.

“As the only private, family-owned auction house in the region, we bring a strong ethos and decades of expertise as specialists in performance and supercars to this new venture.

“We are especially delighted to support this initiative in partnership with a charity dedicated to helping children and their families navigate the challenges of cancer—a cause that resonates deeply with our values.”

Each listing includes a full description and comprehensive selection of photographs, and interested parties can also request a condition report, including a detailed video, or even book an appointment to view the vehicle in person at Hampson HQ in Winnington.

Vehicles and cherished registrations will be showcased to Hampson’s global audience for seven days, giving fantastic exposure for sellers.

Zach added: “We’re attracting higher numbers of high-end supercars and performance cars, along with some very desirable classics, and our bidders are responding to that.

“We also welcome the opportunity to offer excellent examples of lower-priced classic and performance cars, which allow enthusiasts to get into collector car ownership, without needing a large budget.”
