Masked men try to burgle Norley property before fleeing in van

Police were called to reports of an attempted burglary at an address on Delamere Road at 5.25pm on Saturday, January 11.

Officers believed four men wearing face masks had gained access to the garden and tried to break into the property before fleeing the scene in a white van.

The would-be thieves failed to get inside, and nothing was stolen.

Detectives are now urging anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident, especially along Ashton Road, and may have dashcam footage which could help their investigation, to get in touch.

They’re also asking anyone who was in the area at the time and thinks they saw anything suspicious also to contact them.

Detective Constable Paul Boneham said: “We are currently conducting enquiries to trace those responsible.

“As part of our investigation, we would like to ask any witnesses to come forward, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.

“In particular, we would urge anyone who has a dashcam and was driving along Ashton Road from Delamere Road between 5pm and 5.30pm on the date of the incident to get in touch with us.
