NEW female-only boxing classes aimed at helping women become fitter in a welcoming environment are coming to Northwich.

Business partners Karen Taylor-Ronson and Liz Jardine, who have been boxing together for four years, are launching Fighting Fit Female Boxing Combat this month.

Opening on January 6, the club will provide women, aged 16 and above, an empowering atmosphere to help them on the journey to their fittest, healthiest selves.

Sessions will take place on Mondays at The Venue in Rudheath from 6pm to 7pm, and on Saturdays at Snap Fitness Studio in Northwich from 9am to 10am.

Karen said: “We understand women in full-time employment, or who are full-time mums, struggle to find time to exercise.

“That is why we are launching Fighting Fit. We understand that time is precious and that you want to get the most from your workout.

"Our boxing and combat classes are designed not just to get you in shape physically, but to also support mental well-being.

"We believe that through fitness, women can boost their confidence, manage stress, and feel stronger in every aspect of their lives."

Their motto is 'every punch has a purpose' and they want those attending the sessions to get the most from their workouts.

Karen added: "It’s never too late to start investing in yourselfs, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.

"As we all know, many people overindulge during the Christmas period and use the New Year as a fresh start for their fitness goals.

"However, we also understand how challenging it can be to maintain those goals beyond February, with excuses like 'I don’t have time' or 'work is too busy' taking over.

"We both know first hand how easy it is to put others’ needs ahead of our own. That’s why we’ve set up this group - to prove that, no matter how busy life gets, you can always find time for yourself."

Karen and Liz also feel by having female-only groups, it will boost the confidence of the women, who can focus on boxing in a comfortable environment.

“Women feel more comfortable in women-only classes," Karen added. “We don’t feel like we are competing you know, with the bodybuilder in a male gym.

"We want women to feel comfortable and be with like-minded people."

For nervous or first-time boxers, the sessions are to help boost your fitness skills while safely being pushed to your individual level.

Karen said: "We want our participants to have fun, and to leave our sessions feeling like they’ve had a good workout."

"We will accommodate all fitness levels, beginners will struggle at first, but we want to see them improve their fitness level with us."
