A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Winsford man accused of possessing an XL Bully illegally.
Jack Green, of Severn Walk, failed to show up at Crewe Magistrates’ Court for a plea hearing on Thursday, November 28.
The 24-year-old faces one charge of 'possessing an illegal fighting dog', an XL Bully, in Winsford on August 22, this year.
As the offence is punishable by imprisonment, magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest.
It's a criminal offence to own or possess an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless you have a valid certificate of exemption.
It's also an offence to sell an XL Bully, abandon one, or let it stray.
