When and why did you take up photography?
I started photography when I became interested in the weather. I took photographs of different weather patterns and sent these to the BBC and Granada weather programmes and local newspapers as well as magazines that focus on weather.
What do you love about taking pictures?
The joy they bring to other people. I especially enjoy taking nostalgic photographs of the places people used to visit, giving them lasting memories of yester-year. I also still enjoy taking weather photos or recording the many lovely scenes of wildlife that we have in this county.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?
At the moment, I take nearly all of my photos in my home town but I want to travel across Cheshire so that I can photograph other places that have either a historical significance or are full of wildlife.
What is your favourite subject matter and why?
Wildlife without a doubt! We just have so much diversity of creatures large and small. I think we sometimes forget how lucky we are to have such amazing creatures in our towns and we need to remember to protect them and look after our environment, before we lose them.

What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?
The Facebook camera club gives me great contact with local Winsford community groups and I would like to personally thank all these groups for their support and kindness with my photography. My next step is to become self-employed and generate an income from my photographs – that would be my dream come true.
If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?
That’s a really difficult question! I think it would be a close-up photo of a kingfisher. It’s my favourite bird and I’d like to capture both its skill and the colours as sunlight hits its wings. Every time I see a kingfisher it makes me feel thankful I try to pause, take notice and appreciate its beauty.
