POLICE are investigating a ‘deliberate’ fire started by youths.
Cheshire Police are appealing for information after a fire was seemingly started on purpose at Winsford Town Park.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10pm on Friday (October 11).
Upon arrival, crews found some wood alight, which Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service believe to have been done deliberately.
Police are now urging anyone with information about what happened to get in touch.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At 10.20pm on Friday, October 11, police were made aware that a group of youths had set fire to wood at Town Park, Winsford.
“Enquires are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML-1938041.”
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine, from the Winsford station, to the scene at 9.19pm.
A spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to extinguish a fire involving wood on a park.
“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.”
