A POLICE dog helped to catch building site intruders.
Cheshire and North Wales Police dog unit was called to Northwich on Monday night (September 23) following reports of a break-in at a building site.
With the intruders having run away from the officers on patrol, PD Toro and his handler were able to pick up their scent from their last known location.
Toro was successfully able to locate and detain five male suspects.
A spokesperson for Cheshire and North Wales Police dog unit said: “PD Toro and handler attended reports of intruders on a building site in Northwich where the suspects had made off from patrols.
“Toro tracked from the location they were last seen and located and detained the five males involved.”
Cheshire Police has been contacted for further information.
