THE great and the good of the hospitality industry gathered in London last night for the AA Hospitality Awards 2024.
And three Cheshire venues – two hotel and one restaurant – came away with some of the night’s top honours.
Carden Park Hotel in Chester was named AA Spa Hotel of the Year while The Vines Restaurant in Chester and Rookery Hall Hotel and Spa in Nantwich were awarded 3 AA Rosettes.
The star-studded event at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in the capital welcomed some elite guests among the 900 attendees and honoured achievements across 16 award categories.
Tom Aikens was named AA Chefs’ Chef of the Year while The Greyhound in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire is the AA Restaurant of the Year for England and Down Hall Hotel and Spa is England’s AA Hotel of the Year.
Carden Park Hotel – AA Spa Hotel of the Year – added a stand alone spa to its grounds in 2019 fusing luxury and holistic well being with the latest in contemporary design and facilities, all in natural surroundings.
The two-storey building with a wide range of pools and thermal facilities is set in a 2,500 square metre spa garden.
The Vines Restaurant was praised by AA inspectors for its “modern dishes with a global influence” and Rookery Hall Hotel and Spa offers “fine dining in a handsome 19th-century manor” – each venue now has 3 AA Rosettes.
Just across the county border in Lancashire, Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in Aughton was presented with the AA Wine Award for England and overall.
The AA introduced the renowned star rating scheme for quality in 1908 and has continued to shine a spotlight on individuals and establishments who consistently deliver excellence to their guests.
The AA Hospitality Awards successfully showcased the innovation, dedication and brilliance of the UK’s hospitality industry.
Simon Numphud, Managing Director at AA Media, said: “This incredible celebration is a true testament to the strength and innovation within our industry.
“The dedication and excellence demonstrated by all the hospitality teams have been nothing short of inspiring.
“Congratulations to all the winners, nominees and new Rosette holders for their remarkable contributions.”
