A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Northwich woman convicted of drink-driving and fleeing the scene of a crash.

Yvonne Lawrence, of East Avenue, Rudheath, failed to show up at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, September 6, to be sentenced for three driving offences.

The 60-year-old crashed a Citroen C1 into the back of a Renault Megane in Middlewich Road, Northwich, on November 20, 2023.

The back end of the Renault was damaged in the crash, but Lawrence drove off without stopping.

She also failed to report the incident to police within 24 hours.

Lawrence was also convicted of drink-driving in the Citroen in Whalley Road, Northwich, the same day.

When breathalysed, she was found to have 109 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her breath, more than three times the legal limit of 35.

Lawrence denied all charges at a hearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 4, and a trial date of August 7 was set.

But she didn’t show up for her trial and was found guilty of all three offences in her absence, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

After later being granted bail until her sentence date of September 6, she once again failed to show up for court without giving a reasonable excuse.

CPS prosecutor, Kassem Noureddine, applied for another arrest warrant, which was granted by district judge, Jack McGarva.
