A WINSFORD woman has been banned from the roads after getting behind the wheel while almost twice the drink-drive limit.
Anne Mifsud, of Saunton Close, was caught at 2.40am on Saturday, March 9, while driving a Mazda in Wharton Park Road, Winsford.
A subsequent blood test revealed the 65-year-old had 109mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in her system, exceeding the legal limit of 80mg.
Mifsud pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 27.
Taking her admission into account, magistrates disqualified Mifsud from driving for 12 months and fined her £120.
The ban will be reduced by 13 weeks should she complete a drink-driving rehabilitation course before May 27 next year.
Mifsud was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £48.
