FIREFIGHTERS worked throughout the night to tackle a blaze.
A large Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service presence was called to Winsford on Wednesday evening (August 21) after a fire broke out in a disused building.
More than half a dozen crews arrived on Rilshaw Lane shortly before 6pm to find the building ‘well alight.
A CFRS spokesperson said: “A two-storey building in Winsford was well alight on the arrival of firefighters, who gained entry to get water inside and they used hose reels and the hydraulic platform to fight the fire from above.”
One fire engine from Winsford attended the scene, initially along with one from Middlewich.
They were joined there by engines from each of the Holmes Chapel, Birchwood and Crewe stations as well as crews from Chester and the aerial appliance from Lymm.
Providing an update at 9am on Thursday (August 22), the spokesperson said: “Crews are hot spotting and cooling the building using a hose reel.”
