MASKED robbers held a cyclist at knifepoint in a terrifying ordeal.
Two men wearing ski masks pulled a knife on him causing cuts to the neck.
The incident happened on a footbridge near Robert Street in Northwich.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and those with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward following the attempted robbery.
A man was cycling on a footbridge over Hunts Lock at around 10.23pm on Sunday, August 18, when a man stepped out in front of him, blocking his path.
A second unknown man then appeared from behind the cyclist trapping him.
The first man proceeded to pull out a knife and held it at the victim's neck, causing two superficial cuts, and asked him to empty his pockets.
The victim claimed he had nothing of value and the pair fled in the direction of The Crescent on e-bikes.
The men were dressed in all black, with ski masks and were wearing blue latex gloves.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and those with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
Detective Constable Kelly Mitchell, of CID Reactive West, said: “We are asking for anyone, who may have witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the surrounding area around the time it occurred to please contact us.
“The same goes for anyone who may have any captured CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage which could aid our ongoing investigation.”
