ANTI-SOCIAL Cheshire residents have been warned they could lose their homes.

Police in Winsford have been successful in an application for an anti-social behaviour closure order on a property in Cleveland Way.

It follows ‘persistent’ reports of anti-social behaviour from neighbours.

“The anti-social behaviour impacted negatively on the nearby residents' quality of life,” said a spokesperson for the force.

“Hopefully this closure will provide the community with much-needed space and respite.”

They added: “We have zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour therefore I would encourage anyone who has concerns about ASB-related issues to please report it to us and will do everything we can to tackle it and find a solution.

“We hope that this closure will serve as a warning to Cheshire residents that those who choose to behave in this way can lose their homes as a consequence of their actions.

“We take all reports of ASB extremely seriously and will investigate these matters appropriately.”

The order was granted by Chester Magistrates Court on Friday (August 16).

It was obtained with the assistance of the local community.

Now, police will hand the property back to the local housing authority for onward management, once the closure order expires.

Anyone with concerns about ASB in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via https://orlo.uk/IyXkg or by calling 101.
