A WOMAN has been banned from the roads for nearly four years after being caught behind the wheel while more than three times the drink-drive limit.

Sharon Faulkner, of John Brunner Crescent, Northwich, was travelling in a Nissan Qashqai in Darwin Street when she was caught on April 9 earlier this year.

A subsequent breath test revealed the 51-year-old had 121 microgrammes of alcohol in 113 millilitres of her breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Faulkner was charged with drink-driving, to which she pleaded guilty at a court appearance on July 12 and was given an interim driving ban.

She returned to Crewe Magistrates Court on August 13 where she was handed a 12-month community.

As part of the order, Faulkner must complete 80 hours of unpaid work within the next year as well as up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity.

The bench also disqualified her from driving for 44 months - starting from the date her interim ban was imposed -  however this will be reduced by 44 weeks should she complete a drink-driving rehabilitation course by March 8, 2027.

Faulkner was also ordered to pay costs to Crown Prosecution Service of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
