A WINSFORD driver has been banned from the road after he was caught behind the wheel while three times the cocaine limit.
James Ablewhite, of Bedford Rise, was travelling in a Mercedes along Road One in Winsford when he was caught on March 20 earlier this year.
A subsequent blood test revealed the 32-year-old had 32µg/L of cocaine in his system, exceeding the legal limit of 10µg/L.
It also showed Ablewhite had 800µg/L of benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product, in his system. The legal limit for this drug is 50µg/L.
Ablewhite appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on August 13, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of drug-driving.
Taking his admission into account, the bench disqualified him from driving for 12 months and fined him £120.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.
