POLICE have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to after an 82-year-old man was wounded during a pub brawl in Winsford.
Officers were called to the Queens Arms, on Dene Drive, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, June 25.
A fight had broken out between a group of young men, and an elderly man had suffered a head wound.
He was taken to hospital but is now recovering at home. Police don’t believe he had anything to do with the fight.
Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are keen to speak to anyone with information which could help them track down those involved.
Detective Constable Kelly Mitchell, of Northwich CID, said: “We believe the victim was an innocent man who was simply caught in the crossfire, and we are committed to doing all we can to identify those responsible.
“As part of ongoing enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the pub at the time who believed they may have witnessed the incident.
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who recognises the two men in the CCTV images, as we believe they may be able to aid our investigation.
“I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Northwich on 101 quoting IML1855426 or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us .”
