A WOMAN has died following a crash between a car and a HGV.
Emergency services were called to the A49 Tarporley Road in Oakmere after the collision shortly before 7.40am yesterday (May 22).
On arrival, it was discovered a white Renault Clio had been involved in a collision with a HGV near to the junction of Overdale Lane.
Sadly, the Clio driver - a 31-year-old woman from Crewe - died at the scene as a result of the crash. Her family are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
No arrests have been made at this time, with enquiries into the incident in the early stages.
Sergeant Andy Dennison, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with video footage, to come forward.
He said: "The A49 is a busy road and as part of our investigation, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone who has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may help us determine how this incident occurred.
