A NORTHWICH barbershop is hoping to reclaim its title as the nation’s best.

Crate Cheshire is in the running for two prestigious awards this summer.

The Barons Quay venue is looking to win Barbershop/Grooming Salon of the Year at the British Hairdressing Award along with the Barbering Specialist category at the Salon Business Awards.

Owner Charles Rose said: "Seeing how well the salon's been embraced has been incredible!

“All those hours of planning and building the business have really paid off and getting recognised feels amazing.

“With such fierce competition, just making it to the finals feels like a win already.

“We’ve got our fingers crossed for the big prize – winning would be a total game-changer!"

The British Hairdressing Business Awards ceremony will feature a total of 17 trophies across various categories such as best team, outstanding customer care, and sustainability.

It is the fourth year running that Crate Cheshire has made the final of the Barbershop/Grooming Salon of the Year category, having won the award in 2021.

This year’s ceremony takes place on July 1 at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards, said: "The awards celebrate the talented and passionate businesses and individuals who contribute to the greatness of British hairdressing.

“Once again, our judging panel faced an outstanding group of candidates.

“Being nominated in this category requires the finalist to showcase their ability to build an amazing business concept, with a superb level of customer loyalty.

“Crate Cheshire's nomination speaks volumes about their entrepreneurial flair and dedication to success."

Meanwhile, the Salon Business Awards grand final will be held on June 3 in Soho.
