NEWBORN lambs Rainbow, Star and Prince have arrived early at Bidlea Dairy.
This Cheshire family farm is hosting a special Easter event for the first time.
Children can come and meet the cute baby lambs and lots of other farmyard animals.
The Brown family has run the dairy farm at Orchard Farm in Tremlow for three generations.
Ray and Jill are at the helm whilst son Adam and wife Becky run the dairy and Ryan and wife Becky look after the farm.
A farm shop and café have attracted a record number of visitors.
The farm rotates 24 different flavoured ice creams, made from milk and cream from their Holstein Fresian herd.
Chocolate and creme egg will be available over Easter.
The family is keen to share their skills, knowledge and experience with the local community.
Adam said: “We want to give people the chance to see up close what happens on a farm.
“We have never done anything like this before and wanted to do something a little bit different.”
Springtime at Bidlea will give families an opportunity to talk to farmers and enjoy lots of hands-on experiences.
Little ones will be able to feed lambs and calves, collect eggs, hold fluffy chicks and learn how to plait a pony’s tail.
Adam said: “We’ll have exciting events for wanna-be young farmers, featuring demonstrations, animal handling and lots of fun and hands on role play activities and crafts.
“We’ll be demonstrating how to milk a real cow and children can then have a go themselves on a special model.
“It will be good to show them the full circle of where the milk comes from and then they can taste our ice cream.”
Children can say hello to donkeys Florey and Eric in their new enclosure.
Bono the Shetland pony is also looking forward to meeting visitors.
A marquee will feature an array of exhibitors and artisan products.
Children can make their own sheep in the craft area and have fun in tractor tyre sandpits.
A potato dig and pedal tractors are among some of the many other attractions.
The event starts today, Friday, March 29, and runs on March 30 and 31 plus April 5, 6 and 7.
Each day there will be two sessions from 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm.
Tickets can be booked in advance on Bidlea Dairy’s Facebook page or in the farm shop.
Children under 12 are £8, adults £5 and under ones are free.
