A date has not yet been finalised.

In the meantime, the outreach Post Office, provided by the postmaster for Plumley, will continue to serve the village.

The Post Office is now inviting members of the public to get in touch.

A spokesman for the Post Office said: “There will be a dedicated Post Office serving position within the Methodist church.

“This church is undergoing works and a new ramp and door will be installed at the entrance.

“Internally, where will be a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.

“We are keen to restore the service to the community as soon as possible, so the decision has already been made.

“However, we would still like your views on access and the service offered at the new location.”

The opportunity to give feedback will close on April 19.
