A WOMAN has been charged with arson following a house fire.

Kimberley Trelfa, of Falcon Close, was arrested by police after a fire in Middlewich.

Emergency services were called to Falcon Close on Saturday (March 16) to find a kitchen and an outbuilding on fire.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three engines, one each from the Middlewich, Northwich and Winsford stations, to the scene at around 6.45pm.

A spokesperson for the service said: “Crews were called to extinguish a fire involving a kitchen and outbuilding of a house on Falcon Close.

“Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets. A high-pressure fan was also used to clear the smoke.

“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.”

Cheshire Police have confirmed that 36-year-old Trelfa has been charged with arson.

She appeared at Chester Magistrates Court today (March 18), where the case was sent to Crown Court.

Trelfa is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on April 15.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating a fire in Middlewich have charged a woman in relation to the incident.

“Kimberley Trelfa, 36, of Falcon Close, Middlewich, was arrested on Saturday 16 March.

She has since been charged with arson.

“She appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Monday, March 18, and will next appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday, April 15.

“The charges relate to reports of a fire involving an outbuilding at an address in Falcon Close at around 7.15pm on Saturday, March 16.”
