A NEW councillor has been voted in to sit on Middlewich Town Council.
Julie Millington, of the Labour Party, was elected to represent the town's Kinderton ward.
A by-election took place last month, after being called following the death of popular councillor, Anne Price.
Cllr Price sadly died on November 16 last year, aged 66, with mayor Cllr Colin Coules paying tribute to one of Middlewich's 'best' councillors.
Only two candidates stood in the by-election held on February 22, with Ms Millington triumphing over independent candidate John Bird, who serves as one of the town's borough councillors at Cheshire East.
Ms Millington received 430 votes to Mr Bird's 392, with three votes rejected, from a voter turnout of 17.06 per cent.
