A DRINK-DRIVING suspect allegedly attacked a police officer while in custody.
Cheshire Police were called to Grange Lane in Winsford on Sunday (March 3) following reports of a crash.
Officers arrived shortly after 11am to find a blue Mini Cooper and a white Kia Sportage had collided.
The driver of the Mini was arrested at the scene after failing a roadside breath test, police have confirmed.
He was then taken to Leighton Hospital as a precautionary measure.
Then, the 44-year-old was further arrested while in custody, on suspicion of assaulting an officer.
As of midday on Monday, he remains in police custody.
North West Ambulance Service has been contacted for further information.
