A PLANNED road closure near a high school could bring disruption to parts of Leftwich.

Fairfield Road, which is close to the County High School Leftwich and gives access to Leftwich shops, will be closed to most traffic for ‘defect repair’ work on Friday, February 9, and possibly beyond.

Cheshire West and Chester Council's (CWAC) highways team say residents will still be able to access their homes, but those who use Fairfield Road as a thoroughfare, which includes parents on the school run, must use another route.

A spokesman for CWAC’s highways department said: “Fairfield Road, Leftwich, is closed for defect repairs on Friday, February 9.

“A through route will not always be available, so any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use alternative routes.

“The closure will come into force on Friday, February 9, and will be in force for a maximum of five days.

“It is anticipated that the work will last for approximately one day.”
