A GANG of teenagers has been spoken to by police after a 15-year-old boy was attacked.

Officers have interviewed five boys who are believed to have assaulted another child.

It comes after officers were called to the River Weaver, near Northwich Rowing Club, at around 7.15pm on the evening of January 25 following reports of an altercation.

“Officers attended and found that a 15-year-old local boy had been assaulted,” said a spokesperson for Cheshire Police.

“Following enquiries officers identified five teenage boys, aged 13 to 16, believed to be connected to the incident.

“All five boys have since come voluntarily to Northwich Police Station where they were questioned under police caution.

“The case is set to be referred to the Youth Offenders Team and the victim has been updated.”
