A MAN who grievously assaulted a police officer in Winsford has had his sentencing postponed.

Lewis Price also attacked a woman and damaged her phone and a set of car keys on November 19 and 20, 2023, after serving 20 weeks for biting another police officer just months before.

The 27-year-old stands convicted of one count of assault causing grievously bodily harm with intent, one of assault causing actual bodily harm, two of assault by beating, one of harassment and breaching a restraining order, and two of criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody, and appeared at Liverpool Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday, January 23, but Her Honour Judge Charlotte Crangle was not satisfied with the Probation Service’s pre-sentence report.

She said it didn’t contain enough information for her to decide whether Price should be classified as a dangerous offender for the purpose of sentencing.

The case was adjourned until Tuesday, February 6, and Price, now of Great Howard Street, Liverpool, was remanded in custody.
