RESIDENTS in Northwich are being invited to learn more about what the future holds for the town.

Last October, Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) approved the Northwich Development Framework - a 'joined up' vision for regeneration in the town over the next 10 years.

This vision includes the renovation of Northwich Library; the regeneration of Weaver Square; delivering a new market offer to the town; investment in more environmentally friendly travel; and improving the Winnington Bridge corridor.

Now Northwich Rotary Club is hosting another 'special speaker' meetings, where one of the guests will be Jo Comerie, CWAC's senior project officer for Mid Cheshire regeneration.

Peter Holland, Northwich Rotary Club president, said: "We are proud to host these special speaker meetings, where the public are informed of the latest of what's going on in our town.

"These events also present an opportunity for the public to put questions to the speakers."

Also at the event will be speakers from Cheshire Police, providing an update on policing in the town and Roberts Bakery, giving its present and future business outline.

There will also be updates on Rotary in Northwich events, as well as those hosted by Northwich Town Council.

The meeting takes place in the main hall at Winnington Recreation Club from midday on Monday, January 29.

Lunch is provided within the £14 ticket price. Tickets must be booked by midday on Friday, January 26, to be sure of a place.

They can be bought here: rotaryinnorthwich.org.uk/special-speaker-meetings.

Alternatively you can book via email at northwichrotaryss@gmail.com and pay on the door, where there will be a card machine available.

A Rotary spokesman said: "Final numbers are given to the caterers at 2pm on January 26 – please inform us of any additional attendees or that you cannot attend by this time.

"We cannot accept bookings after this time, as we need to ensure numbers remain correct for the caterers."
