A DRIVER has died following a crash along a main road between Winsford and Middlewich.
A 37-year-old man from Winsford was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in the early hours of Thursday morning (January 18).
A white Ford Focus and two HGVs came to a collision on the A54 Middlewich Road, close to the junction with Birch Lane, at around 4.45am.
Emergency services attended but sadly the driver of the Ford Focus died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Officers investigating the crash are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Andrew Dennison, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision occurred during the early hours of the morning, but we’re keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed what happened.
“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage of the incident.
“Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML-1737007.”
The fatal crash comes just 24 hours after another collision between Winsford and Middlewich.
At around 5.28am on Wednesday (January 17) police were alerted to reports of a crash between a car and a motorbike on Clive Green Lane, at the junction with Nantwich Road.
