POLICE have closed a major road in Winsford after a fatal three-vehicle crash.
Earlier this morning, emergency services were called to the scene on the A54 Middlewich Road, which has been shut in both directions.
The collision is thought to have occurred shortly before 5.15am this morning, near the junction with Birch Lane.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Emergency services attended but the driver of the Ford Focus, a 37-year-old man from Winsford, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.
"Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are urging witnesses to come forward.
