AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Northwich woman found at her home.

Police were called to an address in Castle Hill Farm at around 2.45pm on December 8 last year following reports of concerns for the safety of a woman.

Laura Lee, aged 42, was sadly found dead on the floor of her living room.

A hearing at Warrington Coroner's Court heard Ms Lee's mother had attended the home and alerted the emergency services.

Senior coroner Jacqueline Devonish stated the cause of death to be ‘unnatural’ and said an inquest into the death was warranted.

She opened the inquest into Ms Lee's death and adjourned this to May 14, with a case review to be carried out on March 17.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At 2.45pm on Friday, December 8, 2023, police were called to reports of a concerns for the safety of a woman at an address in Castle Hill Farm, Northwich.

"Officers attended the scene and a 42-year-old woman was found dead at the address.
