A LARGE emergency service presence was called to a crash near Northwich.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were all called to the A530 King Street on following reports of a crash.

Shortly before 4pm on Friday (December 8) a Mercedes and a Mini Cooper collided, with the road having to be shut as a result.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At 3.55pm on Friday police were called to reports of a collision on the A530, King Street, near Northwich.

“Officers attended and found that there had been a collision between a black Mercedes and a grey Mini Cooper at the junction of Davenham Lane.

“There were no reports of any serious injuries but the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the collision.

“The scene was cleared by 5.30pm.”

Two fire engines, one each from the Northwich and Winsford stations, also attended.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokespserson added: “A road traffic collision in Northwich, involving two vehicles, saw firefighters attended to assist with one casualty.

“Paramedics and police also attended.”
