FIREFIGHTERS rescued a female driver after a two-car crash in Winsford.
Emergency crews were called to Whitegate Road at around 1.20pm on Monday, December 4.
Officers found the incident involved a silver Volkswagen Passat and a white BMW X1.
The driver of the Passat, a 70-year-old woman from Oakmere, was released from her car by firefighters and passed to the care of paramedics.
Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews removed the door of one vehicle to gain access to a casualty.
“Crews made the vehicles safe before leaving the scene.”
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
One fire engine from Winsford was at the scene.
Police have confirmed that the driver of the BMW, a 37-year-old man from Winsford, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
He remains in custody at this time.
The scene was cleared by 5pm.
