YOUNG footballers in Winsford have been training in their pyjamas to help raise money for vulnerable children.

Winsford Over U8 JFC players were inspired to don their nightwear to show their support for Children in Need.

Not only were the youngsters training in their pyjamas, they also held a cake sale at a recent home match.

So far the team has raised around £500.

Team manager Matthew Copnall and assistant manager Mike Greatbanks said: “As a team we wanted to give something back and show support for such an incredible charity.

“All of the children really bought into the fundraising and had an absolute blast, bouncing around on space hoppers and racing on pool noodles.”

Operating since 1980, Children in Need has raised more than £1 billion in funding for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
