THE premises of a office cleaning business in Northwich are to be transformed into two houses.

Plans had been submitted in October 2022 to convert the Cleaning Force offices in Manchester Road into three-bed terraced properties.

The proposal will also see a rear warehouse demolished to provide car parking and amenity space, with landscaping taking place creating new front garden areas.

And this week Cheshire West and Chester Council green lit the application for the site, which has been left vacant since November 2021.

In a report recommending approval, a council officer said: "The site is in a predominantly residential area and the proposed residential houses would integrate well into the character and amenity of the area.

"It has also been demonstrated that the continued use of the premises for employment use is no longer commercially viable.

"The site is located in a sustainable location within the settlement boundary for Northwich with access to services and facilities and public transport.

“The development would provide satisfactory living condition for future occupiers with adequate internal living space."
