A TESLA driver was trapped in their car following a crash.

Emergency services were called to Northwich on Friday (November 17) following reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

Two Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service crews, from Northwich and Winsford, arrived at Penny's Lane shortly before 9am to find a red Renault Clio and a white Tesla had collided at the junction with the A556.

Firefighters were able to help free the driver of the Tesla, who had become “medically trapped” as a result of the crash.

“Firefighters were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision with one person medically trapped,” said a CFRS spokesperson.

“The crew got the person out of a car and handed them to the care of paramedics.”

Both of the drivers were then taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution.

Cheshire Police also attended the scene and said there were “no reports of serious injuries”.

A force spokesperson added: “At 8.55am on Friday (November 17) police were called to reports of a collision on Pennys Lane, at the junction of the A556, Northwich.

“Officers attended and found the collision involved two vehicles, a red Renault Clio and a white Tesla.

“The driver of the tesla was released from their car by paramedics.

“Both drivers were taken to Leighton hospital as a precaution.

“However, there were no reports of any serious injuries.

“The scene was cleared by 10.40am.”
