LONG delays have built on the M6 following a crash.
The northbound carriageway of motorway is currently closed after multiple vehicles were involved in a crash this afternoon (November 17).
Cameras near the scene of the crash, between J17 for Sandbach and J18 for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel, show that traffic is unable to pass by.
Emergency services are in attendance.
National Highways is reporting delays of at least 45 minutes, with five miles of congestion.
*18:50 UPDATE*
National Highways has confirmed that all lanes are now open on the M6 Northbound.
However, there remains “severe” delays of 90 minutes, with traffic stretching as far back as J15 for Stoke-on-Trent.
A lorry and four cars were involved in the crash.
North West Motorway Police and North West Ambulance Service both attended the scene.
