A FLAT in Winsford has been sealed up for three months by police officers.

Chester Magistrates granted the closure order on the property on Saxon Crossway on Wednesday, November 8.

This followed ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour at the flat, which were causing distress to neighbours.

Cheshire Police applied for the order and officers from the Winsford beat management team provided evidence to the court, which they’d gathered with the help of local residents.

Police Constable Daisy Churchill said: “The closure was obtained with the assistance of the local community.

"We know this property was causing anti-social behaviour issues which were impacting negatively on nearby residents’ quality of life.

“I would encourage anyone who has concerns about ant--social behaviour issues to please report it to us, and we will do everything we can to tackle it and find a solution.

“I hope this closure will serve as a warning to Cheshire residents that those who choose to behave in this way can lose their homes as a consequence of their actions.

“We take all reports of anti-social behaviour extremely seriously and will investigate these matters appropriately.”

Anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101.
