BURGLARS have raided five businesses on a Winsford industrial estate, making off with cash, keys to vans and a CCTV hard drive.

Police were called at around 1.40am on Wednesday (November 1) to reports of a burglary at a commercial premises in Leslie Road, on the Woodford Park Industrial Estate.

Officers attended the scene, with early inquiries suggesting there were three suspects, who arrived in the area at around 9.30pm on October 31 before leaving at around 1.50am the following morning.

It is believed a total of five premises were targeted along Leslie Road and Browning Way. A number of them were damaged in the incident. 

Assisted by a police drone, the officers carried out a search of the area and three suspects were seen fleeing towards the Mount Pleasant and Woodford Grange estates before making off into fields near Woodford Lane West.

No arrests have yet been made and as part of their continuing investigation, officers are now appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of the incidents to get in touch.

Anyone with CCTV or video doorbell footage is also urged to contact police.

PC Dean Butterworth said: "We understand this incident will be concerning to residents in the area, but we would like to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible.

"As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area during the late evening of Tuesday, October 31, and the early hours of Wednesday, November 1.

"The incident took place near many residential areas, so we would ask people to check their video doorbell or CCTV footage for anything which may aid our enquiries."
