A WINSFORD man has been banned from the roads after getting behind the wheel while on cannabis.
Liam Vincent, of Wharton Bridge, was travelling along Middlewich Road in Sandbach when he was caught on April 27 earlier this year.
A subsequent blood test revealed the 22-year-old had 2.8ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (a component of cannabis) in his system, exceeding the limit of 2ug/L.
Vincent appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on October 26 where he pleaded guilty to drug driving, as well as driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Taking his plea into account, magistrates disqualified him from driving for 16 months and fined him £200.
The bench also ordered him to pay court costs of £120 to the Crown Prosecution Service, as well as an £80 surcharge.
