A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after getting his leg trapped in tractor machinery.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent four response units to an address in Arley Road, Appleton, after reports of ‘an incident in which a casualty was trapped by the leg in tractor machinery'.

The incident occurred shortly before 1.16pm today, Wednesday.

Three fire engines were sent from Lymm, Warrington, Winsford, as well as a rapid response vehicle from Winsford.

Crews used airbags and spreaders in order to release the victim from the machinery.

The casualty was then taken to hospital by air ambulance.
